Terms of Service

Receiptso is a receipt capture, expense automation and bookkeeping service operated from Canada. We provide software that reads your receipts, organizes them into books, and lets you share those books with an accounting firm. We are not an accounting firm and we do not provide accounting, tax or legal advice.

You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account, including by staff you invite. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication. Accounts are for people aged 18 and over acting for a business.

New business owner accounts include a 14-day free trial. You choose a plan when you sign up. At the end of the trial your plan begins and billing starts unless you cancel before it ends. Trials are limited to one per business.

All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes, which are added at checkout. Business owner plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance. Annual plans are discounted and paid up front.

Accounting firms pay per client credit. One credit lets a firm connect one client. Credits added part way through a billing period are charged a prorated amount for the rest of that period and then renew with the rest of your subscription. A firm can never connect more clients than it holds credits for.

Each plan includes a monthly receipt allowance and a number of logins. If you reach your allowance you can upgrade at any time and the new allowance applies immediately. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over.

When a firm invites you and pays for your access, you use the service free of charge and see no billing. If that firm ends the connection, your account becomes read-only for two days so you can export your data or choose your own plan. Your books stay yours either way.

You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your billing page at any time. Upgrades take effect right away. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep access until then. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable.

Receiptso uses automated tools to read merchants, dates, totals and taxes, and to suggest categories. These results are suggestions and can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing and approving every entry before relying on it for accounting, tax or any filing.

You keep ownership of your receipts, documents and records. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you and the people you share them with. We do not sell your data and we do not use your receipts to advertise to you.

Do not upload unlawful material, attempt to break into other accounts, resell the service without our agreement, or use automated means to load the service beyond normal business use. We may suspend accounts that put the service or other customers at risk.

We work hard to keep Receiptso available but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may carry out maintenance, change features, or retire features with reasonable notice where the change is significant.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Receiptso is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data or penalties arising from filings. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

You can close your account at any time. We may end or suspend your account if you break these terms or fail to pay. After closure we keep your data for a short recovery window and then delete it, subject to any records we must retain by law.

We may update these terms; if a change materially affects you we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
